Type/Use of Project
The Rose Quarter Project is the adaptive reuse of a five-story Ramada Inn hotel, built in 1965. The existing hotel rooms will be converted to 176 studio apartments for very low-income individuals. Space on the ground floor formerly used by the hotel’s restaurant and lounge will be converted to an alcohol and drug treatment recovery program.
NMTCs are funding a total of 37,000sf: the second floor’s residential units and ground floor’s commercial space, used by the recovery program.
Community Impact
The Rose Quarter Project impacts the community in two ways: It is the area's first large-scale housing development serving very-low-income persons; also, its provides a space to expand the services of the Hooper Center, a drug and alcohol detoxification program.
- Provides housing for very-low-income persons.
- Increased capacity for the recovery program (from 50 to 70 beds).
- More information needed.
