Type/Use of Project
The four story, 61,000 square foot Clark Family Center will consolidate nine existing programs from five sites along with administration, as part of a larger community revitalization effort. The Clark Family Center anchors a four-acre campus which includes 132 units of Catholic Charities-developed low income housing which was not part of this NMTC project. Within the Clark Family Center there is 50,400 sq. ft. of gross leasable space includes Catholic Charities’ office/service area, a Loaves & Fishes facility with commercial kitchen, an early childhood development center and some expansion office space; 11,000 sq. ft. underground parking.
Community Impact
The Center will make a major difference in the community by:
- Serving as outreach for all existing 9 Catholic Charities programs and Multnomah County Aging Services.
- Serving 25,000+ people annually
- Providing nutritious meals and socialization to over 100 seniors daily.
- Offering on-site health and dental screening, monitoring and referrals.
- Using the kitchen to train immigrants and refugees for food service work.
- Providing space for a high quality Early Childhood Education Center to work with up to 90 children.
- Instructing 120 low-income people, focusing on Latina women, annually on developing home-based food preparation businesses.
